In Praise of the Guv

Whatever criticism there may be of the governor's environmental record, one thing he has done right is fight for clean cars.

The Governor has stood up to the car dealers of Oregon and hung tough for cleaner cars for the future. California led the way and a number of other states have followed its lead, including Washington, meaning that the entire west coast is now clean car territory. In fact, Washington's law was depenent on Oregon, which means that Kulongoski brought two states along. There was strong opposition to this law and the governor is to be commended for sticking to his guns on a bill that matters.
