As I was morel hunting last weekend in the Gorge, I discovered one of my favorite spots was overrun with nettles and blackberries. We found some morels, but this is probably the last year anyone will be able to access this place because it is already so overgrown. The Himalayan blackberries were chest high and it's already spring. By the end of the day, our friend's dog had bloody paws and we were all bloody too. Invasive species have already pretty much destroyed the wetlands in Michigan where I'm from. Unfortunately there's nowhere to go west of here.
